Parking at Manchester Airport is as easy as at any other airport as it is one of the larger ones in the north of the country. For some reason, we up north prefer to drive places rather than rely on other methods of transport such as train or taxi; perhaps this is because we like to get our money’s worth out of our cars! So, Manchester is a large airport coupled with a large volume of visitors – naturally there has been tremendous levels of investment in their car parking facilities and they are now excellent – this includes features such as CCTV, frequent security patrols and very high and scary security fencing. Now, your car will probably be much safer in the car park at airport than it is at your home! For peace of mind on holiday, this is somewhere you really should consider. The parking is located a mere 5 minute walk from the main airport so even if it is a close call to catch your flight you won’t have to make a mad mile-long sprint with your 15kg of luggage in order to make your fight!

From a few searches on the internet you can find that there are certain promotional codes available for parking at Manchester Airport. These bring the overall cost of parking down to a rate so low it is almost incredible. If you aren’t as savvy with the internet as to look around for promotional codes on it for hours, they can be picked up other places. For example, always ensure you look through your mail carefully as you can never be sure your mail as you never know what discounts are available from some of the so-called ‘junk’ mail you receive!

Terminal 3 was known in succession as “Terminal 1 – British Airways”, “Terminal 1A” and “Terminal 3 – British Airways and Domestic”. It was opened by Diana, Princess of Wales in May 1989. In June 1998, British Airways opened their new £75 million terminal facility, a major extension to Terminal 3, and were the primary user of the terminal along with their partner airlines. However, more recently they have scaled down operations from Manchester Airport with the sale of their BA Connect subsidiary to Flybe; the ending of their franchise agreement with GB Airways and the retraction of their daily New York-JFK service in October 2008, after 54 years of operation. This leaves a BA operation serving only London Heathrow and London Gatwick from Manchester. After taking over BA Connects select routes, Flybe has gone on to add several more destinations. Today, Flybe, Bmibaby, BMI and EasyJet are the major operators at Terminal 3. Other carriers operating from the terminal include Air Southwest, American Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Adria Airways.
